Reunion 2003 kicked off on Wednesday evening, July 2 with a casual gathering at Gonzo's Bar, Toby's Resort. The alumni came with their families to register for the upcoming weekend events and meet the other attendees. The kids got to know each other while blowing bubbles (their reunion welcome gifts) and shooting basketball hoops on the nearby patio. Families arrived throughout the evening and chatted till midnight in the cool outdoor breeze. Kickoff

Poolside   Thursday, July 3 was the Pool Party held at the Baha Pool at Toby's Resort.
Early that morning the group met by the pool for sunbathing, swimming, diving games and water volleyball. Around midday, the alumni excitedly recounted school memories as they combed through old yearbooks. Our afternoon Treasure Hunt (for kids 12 and under) sent the kids scampering throughout the gardens as they followed clues, collecting treasures for their goodie bags.

Aqua Sol Theme Park was the meeting place for Thursday's School Spirit night. A few alumni came dressed in yellow or green, and the crowd cheered when Kathleen (Stirrat) Carvalho (grad '79) showed up wearing her green gingham high school tunic. The Voyager Sports Bar provided attendees with dinner and drinks where some rowdy attendees started an impromptu singing session of old-time favorites. Later, the party moved outdoors to the go-cart racing track where the kids and adults challenged each other in bouts of speed and skill. Gingham

Beach   On Friday, July 4, everyone gathered at Doctor's Cave Beach for the Beach Bash. The cool sea waters, white coral sand and warm sunshine set the stage for a day of fun. Sunbathers slathered themselves with oils while others enjoyed the calm waves of the Caribbean Sea. Those who shunned the sand, sea and sun found refuge at the nearby beach bar which offered shade, seating and ready refreshment.

That night, our Alumni Dinner-Dance was held at The Brewery, a highly touted sports bar and restaurant which presented a delicious, mouth-watering buffet.  The guest speaker was the school's current director, Mr. Trevor Brown, who came from Mandeville with his wife to attend the function.  Later on, line-dancing brought the attendees to their feet and soon they were all 'getting down' and 'moving to the groove'. Saturday, July 5 brought the highly anticipated reunion Sports Day at Belair in Mandeville. Though it was a bleaky and rainy day, this didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the reunion attendees. Mr. Gene Miller, Alpart's General Manager, was on hand with Mrs. Cheryl Hammond, member of the school board, to greet the early arrivals. After a brief address by Mr. Miller and Mrs. Hammond, the attendees were encouraged to tour the prep and high school. The alumni eagerly showed the school to their families and called to classmates as they walked the corridors.

Friends   As newcomers arrived, the corridor by the front parking lot soon filled with alumni from across the island. Many attempts were made to begin the races and pledge events, but eventually the Sports Day had to be cancelled due to the rain. The undaunted alumni excitedly caught up with each other, sharing memories as they reviewed the old yearbooks.
The skies cleared in time for the football match between the Alumni and 1st Eleven teams. As we have done for years, spectators lined the front field wall to watch. The alumni team took full advantage of their 15-minute substitutions throughout the match and their supporters made the most noise, but the present students racked up many goals to win 7-1. The game provided great entertainment and ended the reunion on an upbeat note. Team

Happy to have spent the day together, the alumni reluctantly bade farewell to the school, old friends and new – until the next grand reunion in 2008!!!
