Link-up Parties

In response to alumni requests for yearly gatherings outside of our 5-yr Grand Reunions in Jamaica, the BSAA introduced the Belair Link-up Party series in 2003.   WHAT? - A gathering - any way YOU like - a BBQ, picnic, fete, games night, pool party, whatever. WHERE? - Held in major cities or towns around the world - a party in a new location each time. WHO? - Planned by resident alumni for Belair's alumni & friends. WHEN? - Whenever it's most convenient. These events are open to Belair Prep and High School past students, teachers, parents and friends.   BELAIR LINK-UP PARTY PLANNERS - bringing Belair's alumni together.  Want to plan a party in your town?  Contact us at info@belairschool.org       Stay in touch with Belair friends in your area.  Come on out to a Link-up Party near you.   September 2007 – Pembroke Pines, FL   Sunday, Sept 2 – Club Gaby's (sports bar & lounge) Adult night - old school music, drinks, pan chicken and friends.    It was a great party and fun night.  However, this was not an exclusive Belair party and the crowd was very large so it was hard to gather our Belair alumni in one area.  Was good to 'buck up' one another though.    Alumni sitings:  Rosemarie Rose, Richard Robinson, Caroline (Cooke) Robinson, Judith Stephenson, Susan James, Juilet Henry-Pitter , …. and others. Send us your photos - info@belairschool.org   July 2006 – Miramar, FL   Saturday, July 22 – Florida Fun 2007 Picnic Family picnic – kids games, dominos, football match, food, night dancing and friends.    We had a wonderful family day.  Even though it started out as a thundering, heavy downpour of a day, it opened up into a nice cool afternoon.  The kids ran around throwing frizbees and balls, playing tag, blowing soap bubbles and playing card games. Send us your photos - info@belairschool.org   August 2005 – New Orleans Fri-Sun, Aug 12-4 – New Orleans Alumni weekend in New Orleans    A group of 25-30 happy and heat-loving folks, original Belair graduates (classes of '71-'76), met for a reunion in New Orleans. Send us your photos - info@belairschool.org   July 2004 – Pembroke Pines, FL   Sunday, July 25 – Picnic in the Park (C.B.Smith park) Family picnic – kids games, dominos, food and friends.    This was a kid's dream picnic – games galore, with prizes and surprizes.  The day started off with a little rain but cleared up by noon.  Attendees set up their lawn chairs and let the kids loose.  There were water balloon fights, bottles of bubbles, a grab-bag fishing game, dominos and music.  We had lots fun.    Attendees:  Angelique Levy, kids & mother, Delsie; Richard Spence & mother, Patricia; Michael Hosein & friends, Camille (Cooke) Lindo & fam, Diane (Cooke) Levy & kids, Damian & Gail (Hamaty) Bird & fam, Richard & Caroline (Cooke) Robinson & fam; Emily Cooke (Belair parent) & her sister Donna's fam. Send us your photos - info@belairschool.org   February 2004 – Alpharette, GA   Saturday, Feb 21 – "Breezing Thru Atlanta" held at Bahama Breeze Family evening – snacks, drinks and friends.    The party was great!  We had alumni there from a wide range of years (1968-'98) - prepsters, high schoolers and graduates. We met at a Bahama Breeze restaurant in Alpharetta, GA.  And even though it was a crisp 62 degrees we were very comfortable on the enclosed, heated deck which was reserved for our group. Our "meet, greet and catch up" session lasted 4 hours (6pm-10pm).  The onsite Caribbean-tempered guitarist provided a nice upbeat background for chatting.    We raised $465 for the BSAA –$225 in donations/pledges to the endowment fund and we sold 24 Belair souvenir glasses at $10 each for an additional $240. Alumni present – Judi Shaw, Patrick Lyn, Leighton Thompson, ….. and others    Collected $140 in donations Send us your photos - info@belairschool.org October 2003 – Davie, FL   Saturday, October 18– Florida Fete Adult party - casino games, raffles, dinner, dancing and friends.    Great kick-off party - we had about 40 people attend.  There were Casino Games (Black Jack, Craps and Roulette) for chances at great prizes - 1 dozen patties (3), 1 Christmas Pudding, 1 Cassava/Sweet Potato Pudding, Handmade Soap Gift Basket, Mary Kay Men's Collection Gift Basket, DVD player (3), 2 sessions with a Personal Fitness Trainer, Dinner/Casino Cruise for 2 (5), 3-day Cruise for 2, Seaplane trip to the Bahamas for 2 on Chalk's Ocean Airways and a Full-Day, All-inclusive Pass for 2 to Hedo II in Ja.  All the prizes were donated and we had a blast at the drawings.   After dinner we danced till 2am.    The party was open to alumni and friends. The alumni who attended went to Belair Prep and/or High School between 1970-86. All others were spouses and friends.    Alumni present - Caroline, Diane, Camille & Mark Cooke; Richard Robinson; Junior Taylor; Ron Morgan; JoAnn, Fiona & Peter-Jon Savin; Jillian & Sheree Bent; Melanie Lyn.
